Kyle Flood was born and raised on the Southside of Kenosha. He is recently engaged and lives with his fiance Devynn and their dog Theon (Theo for short). At 29 years old, Kyle has entered the race as the most highly qualified candidate to represent his neighbors in the State Assembly.

About Kyle

In 2013, Kyle became the youngest person ever elected to office in Kenosha County at 18 years old when he was elected as a member of the Kenosha Unified School Board.

On the Board, he championed proposals to increase the student voice and empower workers and parents. With Kyle’s leadership, Kenosha Unified upgraded athletics and arts facilities, lowered elementary class sizes, conducted full curriculum and safety audits, and conducted successful strategic planning that continues to guide the district today.

Since serving on the School Board, Kyle has been a tireless advocate for government transparency and accountability. He is the loudest voice in Kenosha calling for an end to the insider politics and bad decision making that have plagued our community for far too long. Kyle has also been dedicated to vocalizing major concerns of the negative effects of gentrification and residential displacement in Kenosha.

Over the years Kyle has also advocated for more freedom and access to public amenities. Kyle vocally supported efforts to keep parks accessible and open later for residents and was a proud supporter of saving Kennedy Drive. In 2018, he successfully advocated for the Kenosha County Board to place an advisory ballot measure on medical marijuana legalization. That ballot measure went on to receive 88% support countywide. He also successfully advocated for increased hours at the Uptown Public Library.

In 2020, Kyle realized along with many others, that it was past time to take an even more bold and loud stance for racial justice and criminal justice reform. He was proud to stand up with thousands of fellow Kenosha residents to call for racial justice in our community and around our nation. Kyle helped lead efforts to mobilize support for body cameras being required and purchased for the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department. Then, during the tragic events that occurred in August, 2020, Kyle remained in the heart of downtown helping to organize street medics and ensure public transparency.

Kyle has continued to advocate for public education and fair justice as the organizer for the Kenosha Education Justice Coalition. He was also recently appointed as a non-voting member of the national committee of the Young Democrats of America (YDA), as the 2023-2025 Organizing Director and has been a delegate to the national YDA Convention three times. He is a former Great Lakes Regional Director for the YDA Labor Caucus and as a former employee of For Our Future, he helped lead efforts to unionize staff nationwide under an IBEW local and went on to sit on the bargaining committee and represent co-workers as a Steward.

Entering his 30s, Kyle Flood is proud of all he has accomplished thus far, and is dedicated to continuing the work he has started on multiple issues. It has become abundantly clear to him that there are far too many roadblocks to the solutions that our community needs to thrive at the State level. Kyle is running for the State Assembly to remove those roadblocks and turn the tide for Wisconsin.
